Operation Christmas Child

Have you ever thought that a simple shoe box with small gifts could make a huge difference?

Desert Life Church is supporting the Operation Christmas Child shoebox campaign which is run by Samaritan’s Purse and calls for local businesses, schools, churches and individuals to help put a smile on a child in third world conditions.
Last year alone the Australian and New Zealand teams delivered more than 300,000 shoe boxes to South East Asia and the South Pacific. Globally Samaritan’s Purse distributes 7.6 million shoe boxes to children in 105 countries each year.

Shoe boxes are due by the 21st of October.

The shoe boxes can be filled with toys, school supplies, items for personal hygiene and clothing. Many children who receive a Christmas box have never received a gift before and their parents are not in a position to give.

This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, but a hands-on project that has the power to transform lives. It is a fantastic way to teach children in particular what the true spirit of Christmas is all about.

Anyone can pack a box if you would like more information simply go to Operation Christmas Child
