Desert Life Church on Mission

Sam HarrisUncategorized

We at Desert Life Church are Absolutely Passionate about representing Jesus in the very best way we can to others; down our road and around our world. We want to share, and make known not only His life-changing Word, but also His Love, His Care, His Generosity, and His Kindness, in Action as well. We are committed to seeing lives changed and transformed for the better as people encounter the love of Jesus, and one way we do this is through our Influence Stream as we go ON MISSION, to Make A Difference.

This year we will send you regular updates highlighting stories of what’s happening in Mission and this first highlight reel gives you a snapshot of the incredible year in the mission we had last year.

Sepheo (Lesotho), Tejas Asia (India), Operation Agape (India), Rach and Josh Hilton Vietnam), Triple 8 Motorbikes (Vietnam), Ross And Donna (Asia), Nursing Students Sponsorships (India).

– Sent a team to Vietnam to set up a mechanical workshop designed to train graduates coming out of Drug Rehabilitation a new skill to serve the community.
– Had the privilege hearing from Rach and Josh Hilton (ACCI Missionaries Vietnam), and Ross and Donna (Mandate Ministries / ACCI Missionaries) who were able to visit DLC.

– Bless and Serve three major service providers in our town across 4 sites on Let’s Help Day with over 150 volunteers working together!

– Bless MANY MANY people locally and nationally through both Desert Life Services and DLC in December! See below!

Families are referred to the program and they are able to be supported with subsidised rent for a 12-18month period. The houses are emptied each time a resident leaves with basic things like linen, towels, curtains, broom mop etc. We delivered 5 ‘welcome packs’ for these houses to help families with their initial first steps toward independence – DLS $694.80
  6. Regional/National Footstep: Sent $5000 to arguably the most drought-stricken area in QLD – Longreach. A new pastor is struggling church in the town will now be able to buy gift cards in local businesses, to give to local families in need. Brilliant.
  7. Regional/National Footstep: Sent $2000 to Roma, QLD. Another drought-stricken area. Give money to the church, allowing the church to bless the community this Christmas.

Mission Totals

Mission giving came in at over $130,000 which is testament to the incredible generous heart so many at DLC have for caring for others and really making a difference.

Thank you so much to all who contributed to mission 2019, and stay tuned for our next update which will update you specifically on some great updates we have from the field.
